Program Speaker: Demi Clark, Founder She Built This City & member of the NAWIC Charlotte Chapter #121
SHE BUILT THIS CITY is an organization founded by Demi Knight Clark, a residential construction industry executive for over 20 years. SBTC offers career coaching for women transitioning in their careers and/or those choosing to enter the workforce using their construction trades skills by providing apprenticeship and employer connections. The organization also aims to empower girls from ages 9 to 17 through a variety of methods.
Join our Zoom chapter meeting to watch/listen to Demi explain how they accomplish their goals through afterschool programs, camps, workshops, women-focused career fairs and conferences.
As always, guests are welcome to attend. Please forward this link to any lady in the A/E/C industry that you feel may be interested in all that NAWIC has to offer — both professionally and personally.
See you all there!
During WIC Week our chapter collected construction related books to donate to one of our community partners, Sistercare. Thank you to everyone for the donations!
Sistercare’s mission is to provide services and to advocate for domestic violence survivors and their children, and to promote prevention of domestic violence through community awareness and training. Sistercare is the only organization that specifically offers shelter and support services for survivors and their children in Richland, Lexington, Kershaw, Newberry, and Fairfield counties.
To minimize the risk to the community and the little ones attending the event our chapter board has voted to cancel the Construction Kids Discovery and Awareness Event due to the COVID-19 outbreak. We hope to be able to reschedule this event because we know how important it is to the community. Please stay tuned to our Facebook page for future updates.
