With all of our endeavors that we pursue, NAWIC Chapter #113 strives to help our community be the very best that it can be. Our Civic Committee works tirelessly to support charitable organizations that we’ve sponsored through the years and identify new programs where there is need. Please see some of the charitable organizations that we sponsor below:
Habitat for Humanity – Lack of affordable housing has led to High Rent Burdens, Overcrowding and Substandard Living Conditions. Habitat for Humanity has built more than 300,000 houses, sheltering more than 1.5 million people in more than 3,000 communities worldwide.
Sistercare – Sistercare offers programs of services for survivors of domestic violence and their children residing in Richland, Lexington, Fairfield, Newberry and Kershaw counties in South Carolina. Please click here for the Wish list and drop off location.
Lake Murray SUP Classic – The Lake Murray Standup Paddleboard (SUP) Club sponsors an annual race event annually to benefit the SC Special Olympics SUP Team. Since the inception of the race in 2012, Lake Murray SUP has been able to contribute more than $10,000 to the SC Special Olympics SUP team. The contributions allow them to purchase SUP boards, a 16-foot trailer and outfit the trailer for paddle gear.
American Red Cross – You don’t need a special reason to give blood. You just need your own reason. Some of us give blood because we were asked by a friend. Some know that a family member or a friend might need blood some day. Some believe it is the right thing we do. Whatever your reason, the need is constant and your contribution is important for a healthy and reliable blood supply. And you’ll feel good knowing you’ve helped change a life.
Patty Packs – The mission of PattyPacks is to assist the families of infants and children born with a vast array of congenital heart defects. PattyPacks strives to reduce the emotional strain on the child’s family during hospitalization. Over the last 5 years PattyPacks has delivered thousands of packs to families at The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and Palmetto Health Children’s Hospital in Columbia.
Relay for Life – The American Cancer Society would not be successful without the help of our generous donors and volunteers. Because of you, we’ve been able to help thousands of people across the globe with life-saving cancer research studies, crucial patient care programs, and education and prevention initiatives. That’s why it’s so important to get involved in Relay For Life and fundraise-because when you do, you help save lives.
